After today we’ll warm up, and still watching for widespread rain on Monday

Good morning, it’s another clear, cool morning and we’re going to warm up to a beautiful day.

TODAY

Another weak front has moved through, providing us with more dry air today and tonight. Highs should be in the mid-70s and lows tonight in the low 50s. Humidity will be non-existent.

THURSDAY-SATURDAY

Over the next three days we’re going to see winds gradually swing out of the southeast. This will set the stage for three warm (for winter) days with highs around 80 degrees, lows around 60, and mostly sunny skies. We’ll also see humidity levels creep back up.

SUNDAY

By Sunday enough moisture should have returned such that we’ll see mostly cloudy skies, limiting highs to the upper 70s. It will be quite humid by this point. We’ll also see a slight chance of light rain, most likely during the evening hours.

MONDAY

Finally, on Monday, Houston should see its best chance of rain in more than a month. I expect to see some fairly widespread showers before and as a front moves through, likely crossing the metro area during the afternoon and evening hours.

I’m hoping most areas get 0.5 to 1 inch of rain, but it’s hard to say for sure at this point. More rain seems likely north of the city than to the south. Rains should end Monday night or Tuesday morning.

TUESDAY and BEYOND

The cold front will bring us back into a more winter-like state, with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s for the middle of next week.
