It’s quite a bit warmer out this morning, with lows falling only to around 60 degrees across most of the Houston metro area.
TODAY
Highs today should climb into the upper 70s under partly cloud skies, and a cool front should reach the area during the afternoon hours, likely moving off the coast before sunset. Most likely it will be a dry front, with only a slight chance of spotty showers. Drier air will make for a cooler night tonight.
THURSDAY through SATURDAY
After lows start out in the 50s on Thursday morning we’ll see seasonably pleasant spring weather through Saturday. That means high temperatures in the upper 70s to about 80 degrees, and lows in the upper 50s for the city, and lower 60s along the coast, with drier air rather than high humidity.
SUNDAY
As moisture begins flowing back in from the Gulf of Mexico later on Saturday and Sunday, we could see some afternoon showers due to daytime heating on Sunday, but I wouldn’t expect too much coverage.
MONDAY through WEDNESDAY
The forecast remains uncertain during the first few days of the next work week. I think we’ll definitely see better rain chances, but that may only be a 20 to 40 percent chance of showers each day. It also looks as though a cold front will try and work its way through the area on Tuesday or Wednesday, and some models show this system bringing an inch or so of rain to Houston. By then we’ll quite want that rain, so let’s hope that happens.
MS-150
It’s still difficult to look this far head, to the weekend of April 16th and 17th, for the bike ride from Houston to Austin. Right now the default forecast looks pretty good, with southeasterly winds and highs around 80 degrees. I don’t see anything extreme coming at this time.
Can we keep this awesome weather for the rest of the year? Please???
From Houston to Austin, but no one’s keeping count.
Thanks for the daily updates, we all appreciate and look forward to reading them.
Doh! Thanks.
Typo Alert: MS-150 is Houston to Houston in your post. It s/b Houston to Austin.
