In brief: Spring remains in full bloom this week for the Houston region, with some exceptional weather on tap. Monday looks incredibly nice, and you can plan outdoor activities for next weekend with some confidence. All in all, it’s just a pocketful of pleasant.

A note about site comments
Since the inception of Space City Weather nearly a decade ago, we have had an open comment policy, with limited moderation. A nice community has developed here, with generally good and polite discussion. (Polite being the operative word). However in recent months there have been about a half dozen people stirring the pot with, at-times, nasty and attacking comments. We don’t have any full-time staffers to moderate comments, so we have addressed these where possible, and sometimes late. Unfortunately, if this continues, we are going to have to move to a system whereby all comments must be approved before publication. I’d rather not do that, but it may be necessary to weed out the personal attacks.
Monday
Today is going to be terrific. Several times a year, during the spring and fall, I will call out a day as being a “top-10” day, meaning I feel like it is one of the nicest days of the year in Houston. This will be one of those, with high temperatures in the lower 70s, light winds, plenty of sunshine, and low humidity. Honestly, it’s going to be amazing, so soak it up.

It will be great weather for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as well. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s as you head into the show, falling to around 60 degrees afterward. By this evening our light northerly winds will have shifted to come from the south, but they’ll still be light. Low temperatures on Monday night will fall to around 50 degrees in Houston, with cooler conditions for inland areas.
Tuesday
This will be another sunny day, with high temperatures in the upper 70s. Winds will be from the south or southwest, and we may see a few slight gusts during the afternoon hours. With a warmer flow in place, lows on Tuesday night will likely only fall into the upper 50s.
Wednesday
Skies will be mostly sunny, with highs around 80 degrees as the southerly flow continues. Lows on Wednesday night will only drop into the lower 60s. Some areas north of the Houston metro area may see some showers or thunderstorms due to a passing system, but for now I expect the majority of the Houston region to remain dry. We’ll see.
Thursday
With the influx of a bit drier air, Thursday should be the warmest day of the week. High temperatures could reach the mid- or even upper-80s for the Houston area. So this probably will be our warmest day of 2025 so far. Lows on Thursday night will only drop into the mid- to upper-60s.

Friday
Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds, and high temperatures in the 80s, ahead of a modest front. There’s a low chance of some showers or thunderstorms with this front, and if they occur it likely would be later on Friday or Friday night.
Saturday, Sunday, and beyond
This weekend looks very nice in the wake of the front. We’re talking highs likely in the upper 70s, with plenty of sunshine and modestly drier air. Lows on both nights will fall into the low- to mid-50s, probably. It all just looks very mild and spring-like. We should warm into the 80s next week before another front possibly arrives. Overall rain chances appear low for the next 10 days or so.

I apologize for those people who feel the need to make rude comments especially since I’m sure they use your service for free. I have appreciated having your reports for several years. Maybe since it’s doing so much already, someone will teach AI to filter out rude remarks!
Have a great week.
I read your weather posts every morning and enjoy them, thank you.
I am SO sorry to hear that even one person would make a negative comment about your informative site and your insightful, delightful content.
I really enjoy subscribing to your free service and appreciate the well written forecasts and commentary. Totally understood if you end up having to do the approval thing for comments, the trolls are everywhere these days unfortunately! I’ve had to unfriend quite a few people on my socials in recent times, it’s tough all over. Best,
This week is going to be one of the brightest stars in the Houston humidity world. This Monday and weekend look to be the most exciting. Monday we will experience a vibrant, aromatic dry air, and it will be one of the most exciting days in an otherwise wonderful week. Wednesday you will have a chance to experience a full-bodied southerly air with notes of young softwood as trees enter bloom. By Saturday morning you will experience a complex blend of ‘grippy’ humidity left over from the night. However by mid-morning the air should develop into a more rounded, light wetness that is sure to please even the harshest critic.
I expect big-time turnout for outdoor activities this week, but none more than Saturday morning and afternoon. Don’t let the sun go down on your outdoor plans this week. Houston weather (and humidity) is not always like this.
Commenting is nice but not why I have read your work for over a decade. Thanks for all you do SCW!!
Peak rodeo weather for most evenings!
I have a collection of Space City sweatshirts, and cannot not live without them or your service. However, if I had to … I could live without the comments section. Your time is MUCH better spent on weather versus whether or not a comment needs to be posted …
Hey…I rarely comment, but I want to send positive vibes and sincere appreciation your way! And if any of you readers are like me – people who enjoy and appreciate SCW, but don’t usually comment – maybe just post a “thank you” and perhaps we can drown out any negativity.
Thanks so much for all the helpful and informative info, guys!
“It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold, when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.” —Charles Dickens
What a fantastic quote. I’m presently reading Great Expectations so this hits home.
I am also sorry you’ve had to moderate folks who can’t seem to think before they speak. I also enjoy your free service here and have found that you have helped assuage my weather PTSD since Harvey. Much appreciated.
Everyone enjoy the weather this week! Also to all music fans, enjoy the new Ghost single! It’s great. 😉
You guys are great! Thank you for the honest and accurate work you do. We appreciate you more than you know.
Just wanted to say thank for all you guys do! Sorry to hear people have been terrible in the comments.
Thank you so much for all you do & provide us. I’m sorry a few individuals have been making unfortunate comments. I can’t even imagine of what anyone would negatively comment. Y’all are wonderful & help us tremendously. What’s about which to complain?!? The “Houston Chronicle”, for that same reason, no longer publishes comments and I miss reading others them. Maybe just ignore them yourselves (you have better things to do); your loyal readers will take them down a notch or two, as needed – lol!
Love, love your site and app. I appreciate your fact-based forecasts and realize weather is tricky business that can’t be controlled. So sorry for a handful of people who have made those comments. They are definitely the minority here. I also could live without the comment section if I had to but would not want to be without your reports. I rely on them to gauge my day. Keep up the good work!
I too am sorry to read that people are making nasty comments. Hard to understand…y’all provided excellent information, well researched with a good sense of humor and fun mixed in. We appreciate you very much.
My morning routine includes reading the Space City update. I appreciate the expertise and humility that goes into the forecasting. Grateful for you guys.
The average high in march is 75 degrees or so? And they day i choose to go to the friday, the high will be 88 degrees?
We got almost no break from the heat.
I was a TV meteorologist for 25 years. Know the trolls well, but I also know the positive comments represent people who find your service useful and appreciate it. I for one appreciate your insightful discussions. Thank you SCW!!
I’m so sorry the nasty commenters have reached your page. They just seem to be everywhere. I’ve followed you from the beginning and I value your reporting. I really hope things turn around and you don’t have to waste valuable time culling out the trolls.
I am so very sorry to hear that these negative voices have found this little spot of heaven! I have enjoyed your site’s/email’s dry humor and wit as well as gentle reminders to just breathe and wait for more information so that good predictions can be made with more accurate data, countering the almost hysteria that modern communication seems to have become. I have chosen not to be on social media because of that very thing…and I know you all are doing this not as your day jobs, but out of the goodness of your hearts. Please know how grateful the majority of your readers are…yes, we are the silent majority but I’m increasingly thinking we need to step out of the shadows and voice a desire to return to civility in our communications.
Guys, I’m really sorry you’re actually having to endure personal attacks. There’s no excuse for that. Especially when you offer us reliable and accurate (and free) weather information. Thank you for all you do for the City!
Keep up the great work guys! Sorry to hear about the haters…..They seem to be lurking in every hallway…!
SCW would be just as great without a comments section.
I not only come to the site for weather forecasting, but for the followers’ comments, replies and opinions. I am not sure why some adults takes the Internet so serious. Do a reality check on these bad comments to see if there is any grain of truth and then do not take them so serious. I do not think there is any need for moderating the comments and replies. Eric and Matt just keep on, keeping on.
Love this beautiful weather and love you guys for the wonderful work you do. ❤️
Have been a SCW groupie (ha) since it started. This site is as much of my morning routine as too much coffee.
And while the comments section can be fun, perhaps especially so for those of us who might seek advice on evacuating from Katy (iykyk), I can definitely live without them if needed.
Impeccable Information from SCW is far more critical than Comments providing an entertainment opportunity for trolls.
