Sorry for the late post this morning, folks. I’m still having some server issues that I’m trying to resolve.
TODAY-THURSDAY
High pressure will reign for the next few days, allowing for warm days with highs generally in the upper 70s and low temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s, depending on where you live. Obviously the warmer nights will be the near the coast. We’ll continue to see mostly sunny skies.
FRIDAY-SATURDAY
We’ll see increasing clouds as winds swing back out of the south, allowing daytime temperatures to probably crack into the lower 80s for some parts of the region. Nights will be warmer, too, with lows only falling to around 60 degrees. Expect partly sunny days. Very spring-like weather.
SUNDAY-MONDAY
A cold front will approach the region on Sunday, bringing a slight chance of showers later in the day and mostly cloudy skies. Highs will still be pretty warm, in the upper 70s.
Rain chances increase Sunday night and Monday — this may provide our best chance of rain since early January — as the front moves through. Most areas may see 0.5 to 1.0 inch of rain, or so, and expect lows to fall into the 40s by Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
I seem to recall reading last fall that this Winter would be colder and wetter than normal due to the strong el nino. My sense is this hasn’t happened. Thoughts?
It hasn’t panned out that way. I’m going to post more on this soon.
Thanks; looking forward to it. And thanks for your weather and science/space insights (el nino notwithstanding……).
