The good news is that Houston finally received a bit of rain on Tuesday. It certainly wasn’t an overwhelming amount, but for some areas 0.5 inch of rain or more is nothing to sneeze at. The bad news is that this is probably all the rain the region is going to get for awhile. And meanwhile, the humid air isn’t going anywhere.
Today through Friday
Higher pressure will build over the region, leading to partly to mostly sunny skies and warm days in the upper 80s. As a cool front moves into north Texas and stalls toward the end of the work week it is possible northern and northwestern parts of the metro area may see some storms on Friday or so, but most forecast models keep the unstable weather out of Houston. Expect lows in the low 70s.
Saturday and Sunday
Things won’t change much this weekend as high pressure more or less controls weather over the region. This is going to bring continued high temperatures in the upper 80s, and possibly a 90-degree day or two, and lows in the low 70s for inland areas and mid-70s along the coast. Rain chances will be near zero. Boredom and exasperation levels with Houston’s forecast will, however, be high.
Next week
Conditions will start out much the same next week, but the pattern does appear to finally begin to change by next Thursday or Friday. Some sort of front should get dragged through the area and we may see some rainfall, perhaps a decent amount, before or along with the front. But it’s hard to have too much confidence in the details of the forecast at this point.

It’s not that bad or unexpected for this time of year. Of course, you already know this Eric. The negative doesn’t help though.
I appreciate your work though…and Matt.
Happy Muggy,
Doc
C’mon Eric, we need better news than this. If not, Cowboy may start trolling again and none of us want that! :0)
I about fell out of my chair when I read the following lede in a local blog:
“This time of the year is always nice in Houston.”
I struggled to get past that one.
Lol.
