Beautiful weather through the weekend — enjoy!

It’s cool this morning, and generally in the low 40s across the Houston metro area. Also, the winds have finally calmed down.

TODAY and FRIDAY

Houston will see mostly sunny days, with highs in the upper 60s to 70 degrees, and lows in the 40s. Conditions will be near perfect for late February.

Temperatures at the beginning of tonight's Republican Debate will be about 60 degrees, falling to about 50 by its end. Hotter inside, I am sure! (Weather Bell)

SATURDAY

We’ll see more of the same to start the weekend, as additional cool air moves into the region on Friday. After a cool start in the low 40s, expect sunny skies and highs near 70 degrees.

SUNDAY

On Sunday we’ll begin to see a return flow from the Gulf of Mexico, which will bring more moist air into the region. This will yield a few clouds and warmer temperatures, with highs in the mid-70s and lows around 60 degrees. I don’t expect any rain, however.

MONDAY and TUESDAY

Conditions are a little bit uncertain, however at this point I’d bet on warmer temperatures with highs in the 70s, lows in the 60s, and at least partly cloudy days. Scattered rain showers will also be possible.

WEDNSDAY-ish

Our next strong cold front will probably arrive in the middle of next week, although its hard to nail down the timing. At this point it looks like we’ll see some rain with the front and fairly cold temperatures in its wake.
