Good morning. It’s another cool start to the day with temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s, but now we’re going to warm up.
TODAY
Mostly sunny skies will allow temperatures to rise into the low 60s today with light winds. It should be a very pleasant afternoon and evening. Tonight will be warmer, with temperatures only falling to around 50 degrees.
THURSDAY
More southerly winds will bring moisture back into the atmosphere, and an upper-level disturbance will increase rain chances somewhat, but the heaviest showers will remain off the coast. Highs will climb into the upper 60s under partly cloudy skies.
FRIDAY
A cold front, almost certainly with no rain, will push through Houston during the day, limiting afternoon temperatures to the upper 60s. This will return colder, and drier air to the region, allowing Friday night’s low temperatures to dip back into the mid-40s.
SATURDAY
We’ll see a slight chance of rain showers on Saturday, with only very slight accumulations, and some fairly gusty winds because of a tight pressure gradient between onshore and offshore pressures. It will feel cold with these winds, as high temperatures may struggle to reach 60 degrees. These winds should die down by around midnight.
SUNDAY
Low temperatures on Sunday should be in the mid-30s to low-40s across Houston as skies begin clearing Sunday morning. This should provide optimal weather for the Houston Marathon, which I’ll discuss further in a post this afternoon.
Actually enjoying the cooler weather – although it makes getting out of bed in the morning very difficult! LOL
